Saturday, October 4, Backyard Barbecue and Bylaws Vote!
Please mark Saturday, October 4 on your calendar. That's the date of a very important Couples Club meeting, on which we will vote on the Club's new bylaws. A copy of the proposed bylaws was recently mailed to all member couples for their perusal in advance of this meeting. You can also see the proposed new bylaws here on our website.
As you probably know, the Couples National Organization ceased operations during the past year. Since our incorporation as a Club was previously as part of the national organization, the end of the national group has required us to revise our bylaws and to incorporate as a separate organization.
Our proposed new bylaws have been drafted by the current Operating Committee. But in order for them to take effect, they must be voted on and approved by a quorum of our membership. That's why this October 4 meeting is so important. We will vote on these new bylaws at that time, and we very much want you to be a part of that decision.
But with the Couples Club it's never all work and no play!. Our Finance Couple, Jeff & Karl, are very kindly hosting this important meeting as a backyard afternoon barbecue at their lovely home in Livermore, starting at 2:00 p.m. It will be a potluck, so, as the date approaches, please contact Jeff & Karl in advance so that they can coordinate dishes and also know how many to prepare for.
